The season of mowing has now begun, with Muckleford being the first location, on account of an event being held in the area this weekend. A machinery rally will be held at the nearby site and we’ll have our Diesel’s on display for the weekend, offering cab rides and short driver experiences for anyone wishing to find out what it’s like to control a very big tractor.

We did have intentions of fitting a point lever to the dock road turnout, however we didn’t have the correct rodding on hand, so we’ve had to put that project to one side for now, once we’ve made up the correct rodding we’ll be back to complete the job.

Lots of mowing too place, a combination of flail mower and whipper snipper.

We’ve also installed some bunting to help clearly define the crossing should enough people come out to visit the passing trains over the weekend.

The return trip to Maldon saw some lineside mowing completed also, however things are still a bit wet and green, so we’ll likely be back for a second cut before we can say it’s job done.
Next week will be a combination of lots of odd jobs, we’ll be meeting at Maldon from 8am on Monday and numbers depending, we’ll determine which jobs to tackle then.
