We’ve spent the past 2 days working in the loco shed at Castlemaine, in readiness for some concreting that will be occurring there very shortly.

We’ve plumbed in a future use drain line for the oil store area, which, if it ever needs a clean out, it’ll be plumbed straight into the triple interceptor to reduce mess etc…

That was all back filled and tidied up.

The rest of the job was all about drying out some very boggy ground and installing some drainage to ensure it doesn’t happen again.

We’ve popped a drainage line in behind the pit, giving the water somewhere to go. We started installing crusher dust into the trenches for the slab, being this large to allow for jacking beside the pit, more of this will occur once the concreter is on site next week.
Given that the weather from tomorrow onwards is looking very poor (extreme heat), there will be no further workdays this week, we also need the heat to really dry this out before we can reassemble the track.
We’ll be back into it next week however, Monday we’ll be meeting at Maldon from 8am as we’ve got some material to prepare to finish the job at Castlemaine.
