A very successful week! With 404 concretes installed.

Today started off well and truly sub-zero, with a very good layer of frost everywhere

Eventually, the frostyness melted away into a great sunny day, but it did take a while.

Before long, we were into a solid swing, and we just kept going.

It wasn’t before we decide given we’d knocked over 80 sleepers before 9am that we’d aimed a little low, so back out with the spike puller.

We got very close to reaching the crossing today, however it took us all day to tidy up and finish off so we’re glad we didn’t get too ambitious.

The regular jacking and packing effort saw it come up looking quite respectable.

The 404 sleepers have taken us a very long way towards the crossing, with only about 80 left to replace next week.
Still heaps of proper tidying up to do – timber sleeper stacking, boxing up, etc… but we’re a long, long way towards having it behind us.
Next week, we’ll try to knock this over, Monday we’ll meet at Maldon at 8am or on site from 8.30am.
